Have a say here if you're new to Programing

Hi @benji , great you have enthusiasm for beautiful UI/UX. There are 3 kinds developer you can become. 1. Front-End Developer 2. Back End Developer and 3 Full Stack Developer.

Now, “front-end” means what you see, primarily on the browser. User Interaction, fonts, images, color and lots more. How and where they appear.

“Back-end” means data Interaction. Fonts, images, color and lots more are all data stored on a server somewhere. Back end programming enables you call these “data” so that they can be displayed by your browser.

Full Stack means combination of both front-end and back-end. So you are a full stack developer if you know front-end and back-end development.

You like UI/UX, which means what people see. So, front-end development is what you should learn first. Front end development requires you to master html, css and javascript. You’ll also need to become proficient in some important javascript frameworks.

Java is back-end development. (Mind you that Java and JavaSript have no relation. They are basically different languages just as english is not french). It will be great to know Java, but really, you want to start with how it looks since you like UI/UX.

I would recommend you take Codecademy’s lessons on html, css & javascripts. It’s free, and from my experience is a really great platform to learn programming.

Hope this helps. Best Regards.

Hi @Banks
Thanks for the reply, like I said earlier I’m not completely new to programming. I’ve taken the html & can course on codeacademy. I am currently learning Java as I would be going into android development soon.

hello everyone here i am chikwendu, i am very new to programming bt i have passed through the basics of html and css i would love to know if its the best language to start with ass a new programmer i would love to learn python to… for now i can code a page that looks like the 90s website… i mean websites we had in the 90s pls anyone with good idea should inbox me

#47

Hello @Chikwendu , from what you’ve stated, i think you are on the right track, html and css, then i’d advice u learn javascript with jquery. if you choose to be a front-end web developer, you can learn javascript frameworks like angular or react; but you wanna go back-end, learn any server side language, e.g python, php, ruby etc. Or you can learn all of it  .
I hope this helps  .

All well said and the zeal to learn is key such that the learning will be very good when curated rather than taken several suggestion and lost in connecting them or implementing their connection, and also placing time frame for each section of the learning is another valuable task. You might need to check this platform iqubesdp.com though it come at a cost but they kind of follow up as it’s more of coach/mentor things with time frame of 10 weeks to learn reach phases and connecting them sequentially.
The cost i guess is more friendly to students but it’s not limited to students alone.
Happy weekend.

I think you should start with something simpler, like python it will make things easier for you.

That’s great I sarted html. then moved on to python, using codecademy but I recently changed to sololearn because it’s free.:gift:
